Search Snohomish County Inmate Records

Snohomish County inmate records are searched through a public jail roster that covers the county jail and connected municipal custody entries. A Snohomish County jail roster search can show whether a person is in custody, where the person is housed, and which booking or court details are tied to the jail stay. The roster is useful for current county custody, but it is not the same as state prison, federal custody, immigration detention, or a full court file. Those records use separate state, federal, court, and notification channels.

Snohomish County Jail Roster

The official public roster for Snohomish County inmate records is the NWS Jail Register for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Corrections Bureau. The county also explains the roster scope on its Jail Register and Bail Information page. That county page matters because it says the register now includes people incarcerated in Lynnwood and Marysville municipal jails as well as the Snohomish County Jail. It also says questions about Lynnwood or Marysville inmates should go to those municipal facilities.

The main local facility is the Snohomish County Main Jail, operated by the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Corrections Bureau at 3025 Oakes Avenue in Everett. The public roster is a Tyler/NWS style jail inquiry. It is free to use, does not require a login, and returns a result list with name, subject number, current custody status, multiple-booking flag, and housing facility. During the July 2, 2026 research snapshot, the current in-custody SCSO result page showed 546 entries, displayed in pages of 100 results. That count is a roster snapshot, not the same as an official daily average population.

The county roster does not cover every person with a Snohomish County connection. A person sentenced to Washington state prison moves to the Washington State Department of Corrections incarcerated search. Federal custody uses the BOP inmate locator or federal court and U.S. Marshals channels. Immigration custody uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Release alerts are handled through Washington VINE and VINELink when notification is available.

The Snohomish County Corrections page links the jail register and gives the main jail contact information.

The county jail page is the best starting point when a roster search needs to be paired with a direct call to the jail, reception hours, or the county's scam warning.

Use Snohomish County Inmate Search

The most reliable way to find someone in the Snohomish County jail is to start with the county jail register page, then move into the correct NWS inquiry. Use the SCSO inquiry for the main county jail. Use the Lynnwood or Marysville NWS inquiry when the housing facility, arresting agency, or city custody path points to one of those municipal jails. The roster's search tip says full-name searches use the format last name, comma, first name. If spelling is uncertain, a last-name-only search may work better.

  1. Open the county Jail Register and Bail Information page to confirm whether the SCSO, Lynnwood, or Marysville inquiry fits the person being searched.
  2. Search the SCSO Jail Inmate Inquiry by name first. Use last name only if the first name, spelling, or middle name is uncertain.
  3. Use a subject number or booking number when one is known. The subject number is the person-level identifier also used for mail and account deposits.
  4. Apply the in-custody filter when the goal is current custody rather than an old booking. Use booking-date filters when the approximate arrest date is known.
  5. Read the housing facility field before making calls, sending mail, scheduling video visits, or posting bond. SCSO, Lynnwood, Marysville, and offsite housing have different follow-up paths.
  6. Open the linked name to read the booking history, bond rows, court dates, charge rows, case tracking agency, and release fields.

The Snohomish County SCSO inquiry screen shows the roster search form used for current and past county bookings.

The search screen supports more than a name search, which helps when a common last name produces a long result list.

Snohomish County Roster Fields

The SCSO NWS inquiry exposes a detailed set of search filters. Most fields are optional, so a broad name search can be narrowed by custody status, booking date, housing facility, arresting agency, or case tracking agency. The facility field is especially useful in Snohomish County because the register connects the main county jail with Lynnwood and Marysville municipal jail records.

Snohomish County Inmate Profile

A Snohomish County inmate record is more than a name row. The detail page inspected in the research showed demographic information and a booking history, including active and past bookings. It can also tie charges to court dates, courtroom or video court location, docket numbers, arresting agency, and case tracking agency. This makes the roster useful for the first lookup step, but it is still not the official court docket or the full jail file.

Snohomish County Custody Channels

Custody searches split by agency. The county roster covers people booked into the Snohomish County Main Jail and participating municipal jail inquiries. It can also show an agency such as U.S. Marshal or Washington DOC in a case tracking field, but that does not turn the county roster into a complete federal or state locator. After sentencing to state prison, the correct search is the Washington DOC incarcerated search. Federal custody and immigration detention use separate systems.

Snohomish County Jail Facilities

Snohomish County inmate records may point to several local facilities. The housing facility column controls practical next steps such as who answers release questions, where mail rules come from, and which visit schedule applies. Monroe Correctional Complex is included in the county facility map because it is physically in Snohomish County, but it is a Washington DOC prison for sentenced male state prisoners, not a county jail or city booking facility.

Snohomish County Booking Records

Booking can start after an arrest, after transport from a city or state agency, or when a person reports to the jail for a court-ordered commitment or Book and ID. Snohomish County's "Entering Jail" material says people reporting for court-ordered Book and ID or commitment report to the main jail reception desk between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays, and should bring court paperwork and photo identification if possible.

For an arrest booking, the path is arrest, transport to the Snohomish County Main Jail or a municipal jail, identity capture, NWS booking entry, medical and safety review, classification, court or bond scheduling, and housing assignment. The county living-conditions page says classification interviews occur within 72 hours and review criminal history, behavior, mental health, substance abuse, disabilities, charges, gang affiliation, age and size, prison history, separation concerns, and PREA history.

Jail-issued property is also documented locally. The jail issues a property bin, uniform, plastic sandals, blankets, towel, hygiene items, and an inmate handbook. Prescription medication should not be brought for dispensing. The person should bring prescription information, and jail medical staff verify and fill current prescriptions through the medical process.

Snohomish County Visitation Schedule

Snohomish County social visits are video-based. The official visitation page says all inmate social visits are done remotely and social in-person contact visits are not allowed. Three video kiosks are available in the cashier lobby for visitors who come to the jail. The visitation research also found a possible timing mismatch: the cashier lobby is described as open daily, while the main jail contact block lists lobby video visitation on weekdays. Call before traveling.

Because visit access depends on custody status, housing, and account setup, confirm the roster entry before creating a video visit plan.

Snohomish County Mail and Money

Personal mail for Snohomish County jail inmates is scanned and delivered digitally on jail tablets. The county's mail page gives the personal-mail address as the inmate name and ID number, Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, PO Box 9196, Seminole, FL 33775. Original personal mail is destroyed after scanning. Legal mail is different and remains directed to Snohomish County Corrections Bureau, inmate name and ID number, 3025 Oakes Avenue, Everett, WA 98201.

Commissary and money deposits require the CIN or global subject number from the jail register. The inmate accounts and commissary page says family and friends may order hygiene items, underwear, and writing supplies through Access Catalog online or by phone at 800-546-6283. Account deposits may be made by phone, internet, U.S. mail, or at the jail accounts window. The county did not publish specific package or deposit fees in the captured text, so the vendor checkout and jail account window control current charges.

Note: Confirm custody, facility, and subject number before sending funds, mail, or visit requests because municipal and DOC rules differ.

Snohomish County Jail Records Requests

The public roster is not the full jail file. Under RCW 70.48.100, Washington jail operators keep a public jail register, but other inmate records are confidential except for defined criminal justice, court order, written permission, and research uses. Snohomish County's Requesting Jail Records page applies that rule locally and says other inmate records may be provided only to the inmate, with written permission from the inmate, or by court order signed by a judge.

Sheriff public records can be requested by mail, in person, online, email, or fax through the Sheriff Public Records page and the Sheriff Public Records Request Form. The form cites RCW 42.56.520 and states the agency will respond within five business days by providing records, acknowledging and estimating a response time, asking for clarification, or denying with an exemption. Listed fees include $0.15 per paper page, no charge for 10 pages or fewer, and $1.50 for a CD, with other fees possible under the published chart.

Snohomish County Alerts and Apps

No official Snohomish County Sheriff's Office mobile app with jail roster, warrant search, most-wanted, or records-request tools was located in the official source sweep. Lookup should stay with the web roster, DOC locator, BOP locator, ICE locator, court portals, and Washington VINE or VINELink for custody notification. Vendor communication apps may support deposits, messages, or calls, but they are not official jail roster tools.

The county's jail page gives a specific scam warning. Callers have used real public roster information to identify recently booked inmates and then demand money for bail, electronic home monitoring equipment, treatment, or other claims. The Sheriff's Office says it will not call and request money on behalf of an inmate, will not accept Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or offsite check-cashing payments, and directs people to hang up and contact the jail directly.
